Get the right information, right from the start when starting a small business
When starting a small business there is a lot to learn, and you’ll want to be sure that you are on top of all your tax, super and other responsibilities.
Thanks to some great initiatives from the ATO, you can easily access all the information, education and support you need right from the start to help you succeed.
One way they’re doing this is through their New to business essentials email service. Soon after business owners register for an ABN they will automatically begin receiving emails from the ATO that give a solid foundation on key topics such as:
- registration
- record-keeping
- important due dates
- government online services
- where to get help and support.
Another valuable service to help you get your tax and super right is the ATO’s Small business newsroom, which gives you access to the news you need to know, when you need to know it. By subscribing to the newsroom, you’ll receive short, easy to read articles you can rate and share with your own networks. With the newsroom key dates tool you can also add important tax and super dates to your calendar so you never forget another due date.
The ATO’s Assistant Commissioner, Judy O’Connell, explains that, “these services mean you have more resources to help you grow your business, giving you the knowledge and confidence you need to meet your tax and super responsibilities.”
